Opened in 1968, Columbia Regional Airport in Columbia, Missouri is a commercial passenger airport that serves the metropolitan areas and the nearby areas surrounding Jefferson City. The airport replaced the old Columbia Municipal Airport back in I-70 and is used mostly for chartered flights. The airport is categorized as one of the primary commercial service airport. In 2008, a total of 26,842 passengers were served in the airport, 38,293 in 2010. The COU-Columbia Regional Airport plans to extend its 6,500 feet runway to build a new terminal.

The airport is also near the cities of Boonville and Hallsville.
